Sea Treasures

I spent 2 hours on the beach today, just walking and exploring. The sun was out all morning through mid afternoon. It was a nice surprise for a January on the Oregon Coast. Here's a little bit of what I captured....

My camera died about 3/4 of the way through my exploration today, so I didn't get the lovely sea urchins and starfish I saw in some tide pools. Maybe tomorrow. Miss you all!

Training Starts Monday!

Now that we've made it past the holidays and are back into a solid routine, our marathon training begins tomorrow! It is an 18 week schedule, so you'll be hearing a lot about it for the next four months. You all are so excited about this I'm sure.

Other highlights from the weekend include homemade pizza friday night (our tradition), barleywine from Rogue Brewery and a long trail run in Forest Park (not in that order), a wood fire in our fireplace (first one), and a great mountain bike ride again in Forest Park. The wind about blew us off our bikes, but the sun was out so we soaked it up as much as we could.

The cheesy pesto mushroom pizza. Always a great way to end the work week.

Adam after our trail run. Forest Park is a beautiful park inside Portland City Limits (largest park within a city in the US).
Rogue Brews.......mmmm...beer......
Adam getting the fire going. Luckily no ranger enforced tickets for this one (some of you may get my joke..) Bike ride on Leif Ericson Road in FP. Gorgeous Day. Lots of mud.
Tonight its off to see Benjamin Button. Hope you had a great weekend!

The Holt "Food and Art Fest"

At least that's what it felt like. We went out for Sushi this saturday at "Saburos"with some friends. Just look at this platter. Its ridiculous. Too bad I don't eat the stuff. I stuck with my vegi yakisoba. I did try a teeny piece of the tuna though. Baby steps.

Sunday morning brunch consisted of the Portland favorite "Pine State Biscuits". This place is what comfort food is all about. Amazing biscuit sandwiches. Behold, the "Reggie Deluxe". Consisting of fried chicken, bacon, cheese and a fried egg with a side of shitake mushroom gravy. Mmmm...

The "art" part comes in on sunday when Adam and I began and completed a project I've been wanting to do for a while. With some help from Carol, I decided I wanted to find an old window pane to hang our wildflower portraits in. Lots of measuring, cutting, printing, cleaning, taping, untaping, more measuring, taping and stapling.

A Holiday in Review

Hey! Hope all of your holidays were merry and bright. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends who make holidays like this past one so special. Adam and I enjoyed every last bit of it. Here's a little bit of what it looked like:
Baking and decorating Christmas cookies with Jack and Martha....

Visiting with friends as close as family....

Crazy boys with matching hoodies....

Absurd weather stretching from -2 to 70 degrees that created beautiful skylines such as this....
And who could discount Dance Dance Revolution......
